That was scary enough, so I decided I wanted to do something about it. We went to that school adn tried to help and then later went home, because they had been looking for many hours. So I had this amazing feeling to go this one way that I never go and i did. Later my friend called me and told me the way he went home and I realized that I went that exact way home. I even stopped and looked down the railroad tracks, but that's not saying much because without my glasses I can't see that far. That boy was really close to where I was. I just found it weird that the one day in my life that I go that way, that is the way he went. I guess I wasn't meant to see him though.

3,4,5

It's been a couple days since the last update. I haven't had a whole lot of surprises, but the ones that I have had were awesome. I had a track meet yesterday and our relay team got 1st place and it makes me so happy, because I did it for God. I was really nervous to run, because I didn't want to disappoint anyone. Then I realized that I just need to try my hardest, and hope that everything goes well.

Another surprise that I have discovered is about a friend. There is a person that I have never really enjoyed much to be around just because I found her very rude. Lately I have realized that she is actually really nice and I am bummed that I didn't notice this sooner. I think I just heard other people's opinions of her and got that engraved in my brain, so it was hard for me to want to hang out with her. To my surprise, she is an wonderful person!

I just want to thank God for all my great friends. To me it's such a surprise that he has blest me with such amazing people.

2

Today was a beautiful day, by the way(along with yesterday). Anyway surprises... there actually were lots of surprises today. First of all, this morning I was informed that an interview that I am not currently ready for and was supposed to be tonight was postponed for two weeks. Now I can at least prepare, plan, and pray for this important scholarship interview. Yay!

I never mentioned that I am a senior in high school. Now you know it though. Anyway, today at lunch there was a food fight at the end of the lunch. That was a surprise, because I never really figured anybody would have the guts to start something like that. It was an awesome surprise because it was funny and exciting. Don't worry I did not participate in this, I just ran away like crazy, because I didn't really want mac and cheese, pop, or other food all over me. I'm pretty sure it would be fun to get in a food fight, but it's just so hard to clean up and I don't want to make extra work for anybody.

The third surprise today was a friend calling me who is now in college at the U of M. She informed me that she was in jail and needed bail money. This was left on my voicemail because I was in school. That's basically what she said in my message, but then I called her later and she explained it all to me. She didn't do anything wrong at all, it was to raise money for the special olympics. This is how it works: The people helping out with special olympics nominate two people to be stuck in jail until they can call people and convince them to give them money for bail. They couldn't say why they were in jail, they just had to raise the money and stay in there until they got it. By the time I called her this was over with and she had raised the money for bail(well for the special olympics). I have never heard of anything like that at all.

Getting Started

Hello, I'm a girl named Amanda. I live in Chaska and have a mom, dad, brother, and a cat named Whistle. I play track, skiing, and cross country running. I love Upperroom and I am very grateful that my friend introduced me to it.

I am glad to finally begin. I wrote yesterdays down, so I will just post twice for today and yesterday. Well here I go...

"Surprise me, God." Day One. Today I prayed for God to surprise me and I know he did indeed do that. The first time I noticed a surprise was in Psychology. We talked about all the choices and thoughts of life that we face everyday. When we decide to do something vs. something else we may be missing a surprise or maybe even becoming surprised. Not sure if that makes sense to anybody besides myself. I can already tell that that class is going to relate to this topic all the time.

Lately I have been really concentrating on running for God and doing my best for him and not myself or anyone else. Normally I have hip pain when I sprint fast and have to hold back some. Today(well yesterday actually) I ran with no hip problems and found out that two other people that I run with are the same speed as me. I was very surprised by all of this, because I didn't think that I would be able to stick up with those girls and not have pain. It's amazing how running for God changes things up.

Well that's all for this one. Chao!
